Photograph of the "Dicksadee" cabin cruiser anchored near the Ft. Sumter Hotel in the Ashley River. The spectators on board are watching the competing swimmers, followed by their coaches in canoes, compete in the Y.M.C.A. 2 1/2 mile race. The "Dicksadee" was used as the starting and ending craft for the race.

The race began at the Yacht Basin with entrants diving off the "Dicksadee," and ended two and a half miles later at the Ashley River Bridge. George Burges of Charleston won with a time of 35:45 and accepted his trophy on the cabin cruiser.
