Description:
Black and white photograph of a snow covered White Point Garden, looking east toward the harbor. Achurch set his camera up on the walk way that once ran along the Ashley River side (now Murray Boulevard) to capture the heavy snowfall after the blizzard.
The "Great Blizzard of 1899" or the "Great Arctic Outbreak of 1899" brought a mixture of snow and sleet to Charleston on February 11 - 12, with reported temperatures of 7?F and four inches of snow.
