Description:

Watercolor on paper of a figure drawing or quick sketch of a seated child, likely for the purpose of practice in capturing the pose and defining characteristics of a model. The unidentified child wears a blue shirt tucked into black shorts. The image consists of blocks of solid color, apparently added without an initial pencil sketch since there are no pencil lines visible. The child sits on an unseen step with no background or shadow. Ball has used the wet-in-wet technique.
