Description:

Watercolor on paper illustrating a figure standing in front of a building with a raised hand. He is conveyed in a color blocked, almost abstract environment, through a forested area. Irregular dark shapes hover in space surrounded by patches of yellow, peach, and red. Solid navy blue is the predominant color and the two straight lines forming an acute angle in the upper right have no foundation. This painting is a study that has a criticism written on it in pencil in the lower right. It reads: "try this as three pine trees, looking through them to a bonfire - picnic -n- something may be marsh in autumn."
