Description:

Oil landscape painting on canvas illustrating a plowed field. The treeline, which dominates the right side of the image, casts a shadow over the well tended crops. The violet patch of field appears to represent the color of the crop itself, as the shadows cast by the treeline are represented in blue hues. This painting shows greater attention to detail than many of Ball's oil paintings in the collection.
