Description:

Watercolor on paper of a figure drawing. This painting is a quick sketch of a man seated, likely for the purpose of practice in capturing the pose and defining characteristics of a model. The man wears a green jumpsuit and sits with his arm on his left knee. The other leg and arm are relaxed. The image consists of blocks of solid color, apparently added without an initial pencil sketch since no pencil lines are visible. The man leaves no shadow on his surroundings, though there is a shadow on his leg cast by his arm. The pigment is applied in a wet-in-wet technique and the model is identified as, "Dick Rodney."
