Description:

Watercolor on paper illustrating three women holding raised bundles of flowers as they approach a woman wearing a blue dress. Two bundles of flowers can just be seen at the bottom and the far left, evidence of two more flower vendors. Ball has started to fill in the clothing and skin color to the woman on the far right, the other two remain unfinished. They all stand in front of a textured evergreen background resembling a trimmed hedge. The pigment is applied heavily in a dry brush technique, which brings out the texture of the watercolor paper. This is a different view to another watercolor Ball painted, (see 1975.32.165).
