Description:

Watercolor on paper illustrating a night scene of a twisting, dirt road or path leading to a small house lit from within. A figure is faintly visible through the doorway and the light from the house reaches the grass in the immediate surroundings. Dark pines are silhouetted against a night sky and the scattered stars were achieved either by actively avoiding certain spots or Ball might have used a technique of sprinkling salt over the image.
