United States Navy 15th Naval District Baseball Team

Sepia photograph of man identified as James Benjamin Smith (nicknamed Hobbs) posing for the photographer in his baseball uniform. He noted on reverse, "Myself after Corozal game. We won 5-3, Hobbs 1947."

The 15th Naval District was assigned to the Panama Canal Zone in 1945 and was not disestablished until 1975 when its responsibilities were transferred to the Panama Canal U.S. Naval Station.
