Description:

Black and white photograph of Peg Drennan tending to the fire in the dining room at the Joseph Manigault House. The dining room was set up as the "den room" where sofas, game tables for cards and puzzles and a phonograph with records were stationed while the nearby kitchen was always stocked with snacks, sodas, coffee and tea for the soldiers.

During World War II The Charleston Museum leased the Joseph Manigault House to the National Catholic Community Service, Inc., an Agency of the United Service Organization. Peg Drennan served as the Director from 1943-1944.
