Description:

Black and white photograph of the Transport Ship No. 21 possibly the "Leona" of the Quartermaster Department used during the Spanish-American War. Sams might have captured this scene by placing his camera on what is now Concord Street. Logs and cut lumber can be seen to the right. This image was printed from a glass plate negative held in the Museum's collection and is a wonderful representation of the differents ways the port of Charleston was used.
