Tornado of 1938

Description:

Sepia photograph taken after clean up had begun following the destruction caused by two tornadoes that struck the penninsula on the morning of September 29. Three additonal twisters would also hit James Island, Sullivan's Island and the outlying areas.
Paine noted on reverse, "West Tornado, Fiddler's Green Sept. 29 8 am. 1938 Photo by M.B. Paine."
