Description:
Black ink etching on paper depicting a woman balancing a basket on her head as she walks past the circular outbuilding* of the Joseph Manigault House (350 Meeting Street). Gift of the artist.
*Edward Manigault referred to this outbuilding as a "summer house" on his 1852 survey. During the 1920s it became more popularly known as the "Porter's Lodge" and was then later referred to as the "Gate Temple."
