Description:
Watercolor illustrating the mature and immature stage of a mushroom growing beside a ginger plant. Jervey painted this scene on a postcard addressed to Laura Bragg at Gibbes Street and noted its location on the top as "Station 26 1/2 Atlanticville, S.C." and "Ginger" and "The Deadly Amanita" along the bottom. She wrote to Bragg on reverse, "I left the Ginger plant at 7 Pitt St. for you. I hope you can get it soon. I.M.J."
