Description:
Watercolor on paper illustrating various stages of mushroom maturation. Jervey noted along the bottom, "Tricholoma russula. Edible" and wrote on reverse, "Found under old White Oak trees under the leaves. When the underside gills are white it is edible. When the gills are pink it is likely to be bitter. Found in the Autumn Rugby Grange, Fletcher N.C. Near or under White Oaks."
