Description:
Watercolor on paper illustrating various stages of mushroom maturation. Jervey noted along the bottom, "Tricholoma personatum Edible" and wrote on reverse, "Tricholoma personatum or nudus [nudum] as it is sometimes called is found occasionally in the summer but it is a fall variety. Edible when purple changing to grey then brown. Bitter when it becomes brown when grey it may or may not be bitter, cook & see, if bitter don't eat it."
