Ovoid-shaped storage jar created by enslaved potter, Dave Drake (Dave the Potter) currently on display in the Museum's First Hall. Dave designed this jar with two opposing slab handles beneath a rolled, everted rim. It is olive in color and finished with an alkaline glaze. On one side, Dave inscribed his own name as well as the man who owned him Lewis Miles, along with the date.
