Photograph of the mule races at the Belvidere racetrack during the St. John's Jockey Club horse race. At this time, Black jockeys were only allowed to ride mules in a side race. "The News and Courier" published this image on December 6 with the caption "They're Off - And They're Mules. This was the Comedy Element in the Belvidere Races."
