Description:
1853 Charleston copper slave badge currently on exhibit in First Hall stamped, "Servant 1842". The name "Liddy" is faintly engraved on the front. This badge would have been worn by the slave "Liddy", hired out to work in houses as a servant, washer woman or maid.
