Description:

One of three black-legged kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla tridactyla) eggs (CBE1859 - CBE1861) collected from Grimsey in Northern Iceland. The Palsson slip noted their incubation had started by the time of collection and identification was made due to observing the parent on the nest. Addtionally, it "was on a ledge of a sea cliff. [The] eggs resting on three inch high mass of grass and moss." They were later acquired by Ernest Cutts.
