Description:

One of three black-legged kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla tridactyla) eggs (CBE1856 - CBE1858) collected from Hersavik in Northern Iceland. The Palsson slip noted that the incubation had started by the time of collection andthat the identification was made due to observing the parent on the nest. Addtionally, the egg "was on a turf covered cliff ledge. [The] nest was made of scraps of moss, grass and sea weeds." Later acquired by Ernest Cutts.
