Description:
Watercolor on paper illustrating various stages of mushroom maturation. Jervey noted along the bottom, "Bitter brown Russula" and wrote on reverse, "The Brown R is very bitter. The name Russula means red although they are many colors. Just a little confusing. Dr. [Wilfred] Grenfell tells me they grow in Labrador during the summer months."
