Description:
Watercolor on paper illustrating various stages of mushroom maturation. Jervey noted along the bottom, "3 Stages of the Russula vinosirosea. Edible" and wrote on reverse, "From R1 - The Russulas are pure white underneath. When it becomes yellowish it changes its name to Russula Emetica. They are found in Summerville S.C. in mild winters. I got this information from two rare old french prints that are in my Hobby Primer."
