Description:
Watercolor and gold paint on paper illustrating two mushrooms. Jervey noted along the bottom, "1 - Russula alutacea 2 - Russula Emetica. Poisonous" and wrote on reverse, "The Russula family [?] [?], & Tricholonia are all so much alive. The R. is found in the summer months [?] is a winter mushroom found under pine needles Tricholonia a fall mushroom. The Lactasius exudes milk. The other 3 varieties do not."
