Currently on exhibit in the Amory at the Museum, this .36 caliber Colt Model 1849 Pocket revolver, has a 5-shot cylinder with an octagonal barrel. It is designed with a case-hardened frame, hammer and lever with a one-piece grip made of walnut that was originally varnished. The remainder of the piece is blued and the lever-type ramrod is attached beneath the barrel. This piece is equipped with a leather holster and belt and is also known as the "one line of New York " because of its "New York" marking.
