Description:
A sample of phosphorite that is brown to gray in color on broken surfaces. It has a very irregular surface with large holes through it and white encrusted minerals in various areas (possibly also barnacles). The phosphate rock was collected 0.3 miles south of John's Island Station, Bolton Mines (owner P. Bradley), circa 1900; possibly from the Pleistocene horizon.
