Perithemis tenera, Eastern Amberwing
Description:
An eastern amberwing (Perithemis tenera, Say 1840) collected from Creekside, Berkeley County, South Carolina in 1973 by Margaret Harrison. The eastern amberwing, despite its name suggesting it is exclusively an eastern United States species, actually has a range that extends as far west as New Mexico, as far south as Central America, and as far north as Ontario, Canada.
