Description:

Currently on exhibit in the Armory at the Museum, this pair of officer's pistols (derringer type) are each equipped with percussion cap actions which have been converted from the original flintlock mechanism. The wooden stocks are carved with cross hatched patterns at the grip and silver inlaid bands are present near the breech. There are also brass-tipped ramrods in place within the housings on the underside of each barrel and are stamped with two custom English proofmarks. A silver oval cartouche is at the top of each stock and behind the hammer. The mahogany case contains an oil can, bullet mold, two screw drivers, a loading rod, and a brass powder flask.
