Page 41 - Santee Gun Club

Description:

Photograph of an unidentified man and woman (possibly caretakers) at the Santee Gun Club (formerly Blake's Plantation) standing in front of run down shed. The woman holds a chicken with several chickens around them. A horse-drawn carriage and barn are visible in the background. Notation on reverse, "Santee." Found loose in the album.

The image was taken during the 18th annual meeting of the American Association of Museums in Charleston that coincided with the 150th anniversary of the founding of The Charleston Museum. Then Director, Laura Bragg arranged for tours of various sights and plantations around the Lowcountry for the AAM members and spouses.
