Description:

Black and white photograph of side views of both the yard and the Nathaniel Russell House. Achurch set his camera up in Morton B. Paine's house (47 Meeting) to capture the scene. First (Scots) Presbyterian Church (53 Meeting) can be seen in the background.

Completed in 1808 for merchant Nathaniel Russell, it was designed by an unknown architect in the Federal-style. Constructed with delicate and elaborate details, this three-story town home features oval-shaped rooms, palladian windows, fanlights and a free-flying staircase.
