Description:

Two samples (GR829a-b) consisting of grains ranging from dust to sand collected from a 10 to 28 foot depth. It is intepreted as Ashley formation, Upper Oligocene. Sample B consists of grains consisting of light gray ranging in size from sand to lumps, from a depth of 65 feet at the bottom of a pit. The sample was intepreted as Harleyville formation, Upper Eocene. Both were collected from the Ashley Marl Works, 3.6 miles southwest of Sineath Station in Dorchester County, South Carolina.
