Market Street

Description:

Black and white photograph of an elevated view of the south side of Market Street looking northeast toward the Cooper River. Sams set his camera up on the window ledge from his office inside the U.S. Customs House where he served as the acting assistant surgeon for the United States Public Health Service. The masts of two ships are just visible docked behind the Acme Brewing Co. located on the corner of Concord and Market Streets. Printed from a glass plate negative held in the Museum's collection.
