Description:
A dark gray marble, interlayed with white to light gray muscovite, from sequence of thinly layered schists, quartzites, calcareous schists and marbles. Collected on the south side of the Broad River, about 4 miles east of Gaffney, circa 1972. This is not typical of the marble quarried near Gaffney, which is light gray and banded.
