Description:

Photograph of the main exhibit hall on the first floor during an "Open House" event. The photographer shot the image from the second floor showing Donald Herold (in suit), director of the Museum, speaking with visitors.

The Museum held an open house from October 26 to November 5 in which staff members took visitors behind the scenes to show them the need for a new building. A slide show was also shown to let people see how badly deteriorated the building and objects had become due to a leaky roof and lack of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Voters were to decide whether to approve a million dollar bond issue for the Museum's new building plans on November 5.
