They are identified on the front (left to right), "Hasel A., Gobert E., Hugh E., Arthur L., Chester S., Kenneth S., Marguerite C., and Lois C." A printed card affixed to the back identifies the group as, "Family of Arthur L. Macbeth of Baltimore, Md. (originally of Charleston, S.C.). These are seven of the eight children whose mother died November 28, Thanksgivng, 1901, and whose father kept them together and devoted the years of his widowhood to their proper training and education." Photographer's mark imprinted front bottom, "Arthur L. Macbeth Photo - Artist 30 Penna. Ave. Balto. MD and stamped on reverse, "A.L. Macbeth, photo-artist Baltimore, MD studio, 1030 Penna. Ave."
Inscribed on reverse, "To Mr. M.M. Saunders."
