Description:

One of three laughing gull eggs (Leucophaeus atricilla atricilla) collected from Deveaux Bank near Rockville. Cutts' slip described the nest as being "of reed stems and grass and placed on ground in high grass on sand dune on bar at mouth of North Edisto River." Cutts also noted the multitude of birds utilizing the area stating "thousands of terns, skimmers and pelicans also inhabit this bar." Incubation of the eggs had started by the time of collection and identification was confirmed by observing the birds in the area (see CBE1966 - CBE1968).
