Description:

One of three laughing gull eggs (Leucophaeus atricilla atricilla) collected from Deveaux Bank near Rockville. He described the nest as being "of reed stems and placed on ground in high grass on side of sand dune on bar at the mouth of the Edisto River." Cutts' slip also noted the multitude of birds utilizing the area stating "thousands of terns, skimmers and pelicans also inhabit this bar." Incubation of the eggs had started by the time of collection and identification was confirmed by observing the birds in the area (see CBE1963 - CBE1965).
