Description:
One of four laughing gull eggs (Leucophaeus atricilla atricilla) collected from Deveaux Bank near Rockville. Cutts' slip described the nest as being "of reed stems and coarse grass and placed on ground in high grass on side sand dune on bar at the mouth of the North Edisto River." Cutts also noted the multitude of birds utilizing the area stating "thousands of terns, skimmers and pelicans also inhabit this bar." Incubation of the eggs had started by time of collection and identification was confirmed by observing the birds in the area.
