Description:

One of three (Wyman's) western gull eggs (Larus occidentalis wymani) collected from the Santa Cruz Islands off the coast of California (see CBE1882 - CBE1884). Stevens slip noted that the incubation period had started prior to collection and the nest was "a small depression in ground lined with grasses and sea weed. Placed beside bush." Additionally, he noted a "small colony visiting on island." The eggs were later acquired by Ernest Cutts.
