Description:
Photograph of King Street decorated with patriotic flags and banners. Paine focused on the east side of the street, looking south from just above Wentworth. A horse-drawn wagon and carriage are parked on one side and pedestrians are visible walking along the brick paved street. A white banner advertising for the "Headquarters Committee or Information" can be seen spanning the width of the street. Paine noted his camera settings on reverse, "6 minutes about correct. 6 1/2 would be better. King St. in 1895* decorated for Confederate Reunion. Photo by M.B. Paine, Jr. Chas. S.C."
*Paine incorrectly recorded the date of "1895." The official Confederate Reunion was held in May of 1899 in Charleston.
