Description:

Photograph of King Street at night. Paine set his camera up in the center of the street to capture the buildings reflected in the bright lights. Directly to the left (in view) is the Garden Theatre (371 King) advertising the movie "You Can't Take It With You" on the marquee. A man is window shopping at Sam's Haberdashery (375 King) and several other business signs are visible, including Ball Hardware Supply Co. (377 King) and Gainey's Drug Store (381 King) at the intersection of Calhoun Street. Notation on reverse reads, "Xmas Night, King St. Chas. S.C., Dec 1938. Photo by M.B. Paine."
