Photograph of the excavation unit showing the original door to the cellar of the kitchen/laundry building at 87 Church Street. It was bricked up when the storage shed was built. Bayless shot the image during the archaeological dig conducted by Museum archaeologist, Elaine Herold. Photographer's handwritten notation on reverse, "Heyward Washington House, Excavation, intersection Kitchen & shed, West Elevation."
