Description:

Photograph showing the chimney foundation (east side) in the cellar of the kitchen/laundry building at 87 Church Street. Bayless shot the image during the archaeological dig conducted by Museum archaeologist, Elaine Herold and focused on the west wall. Photographer's notation on reverse are incorrect, "Heyward-Washington, Kitchen, West Room Basement, East Wall."

The archaeological excavations are complete and a large pit (Herold's Feature 7) is in the foreground, left.
