Photograph showing the third floor of the kitchen/laundry building where enslaved people lived and labored at 87 Church Street. Bayless shot the image from the east bedroom and focused on the top of the staircase. It was taken during the archaeological dig conducted by Museum archaeologist, Elaine Herold. Photographer's handwritten notation on reverse, "Heyward Washington House, Kitchen, Third Floor Hall from East Bed Room."
