Description:

Watercolor and gouache painting illustrating the branch, leaves, buds and bloom of the anchovy pear (Grias cauliflora) plant. The opacity of the flowers and trunk suggest that they were painted in gouache.

Taylor painted this scientific illustration during her second expedition with William Beebe in British Guiana (now Guyana).

Gift of the artist, 1946.
