Description:

Oil painting on canvas of the gates at the Ball House once located at the corner of East Bay and Vernon Streets. The heavy application of paint in an impressionist style conveys a brick wall with two openings and three pillars. The tops of the pillars are ornamentally decorated with cornices and pyramids while the bricks are illustrated using cool hues, (predominantly pink and green) and the doors in warm hues, including orange and yellow. Handwritten on the reverse, "Gates of the old Ball House on East Bay and Vernon St."
