Description:

One of eight American coot eggs (Fulica americana americana) collected during advanced incubation and identified by the birds present (see CBE3213 - CBE3220). The nest was "of reed stems and placed in reeds in fresh water duck pond. This is the first set of eggs of this species found in South Carolina," (Cutts slip).
