Erythrodiplax berenice, Dragonlet
Description:
A seaside dragonlet (Erythrodiplax berenice, Drury 1773) collected by Margaret Harrison from Berkeley County, South Carolina on August 5th,1967. This species is unique among dragonflies in the western hemisphere as it can breed in saltwater whereas other western hemisphere species breed in freshwater. The seaside dragonlet can commonly be found in marsh habitats in the Lowcountry.
