Description:
Oil on canvas portrait of Jane Elizabeth (Genhoulillac) Gignilliat Heyward by George Flagg (after Jeremiah Theus). Jane was the second wife of Daniel Heyward. The subject is seated before a plain background and dressed in blue with ermine trim and lace sleeves. A rose is positioned at the bodice and a pearl choker about the throat. Charles Manigault commissioned this copy from artist George Flagg in 1848.
