The limbs of a large, moss laden tree extends over the lawn to the right. More large trees border the yard on the left behind a statue or fountain on a mound with a small building on the side. Handwritten on reverse: "Drayton Hall on Ashley River near Chas. S.C. Built 1720; only colonial mansion left of the 20 on the river. Photo by M.B. Paine, 10/10/[19]16."
